"Sunny"

Missing since 10/26/2000

Update: 05/04/2001, Sunny is still missing.

Detail:

Sunny is a blonde Shih-Tsu. She is 12 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. On Thursday, 10/26/2000 she slipped out of her grandmother's house in Lakewood, Lee's Summit, Missouri.  When she was discovered missing several people immediately canvassed the area.  The following day several posters were made and distributed throughout the community.  A few citizens came forward to report sightings of a dog matching Sunny's description.  Apparently several vehicles had stopped on the shoulder of highway 291 and the occupants were trying to catch our lost family member to keep her from harm.

What We've Done:

Placed a "Lost" ad with the Kansas City Star.

Checked the KC Star "Found" ads every day.

Checked the Lee's Summit Journal "Found" ads every day.

Contacted five of these television stations.  Only KSHB-41 replied to say that they may be able to help.

There are many other resources that we called upon, including the Animal Haven message board, the Internet Lost and Found, the Lost Dog Registry at 816-333-0020, and many of these animal shelters

We check in frequently with the Humane Society and Animal Control.

About Sunny:

Sunny's first two years were spent with an elderly woman who could no longer care for her.  She was then given to an abusive family member who had a friend that found us.  After a few weeks she finally came to trust us and we've been a family for the last 10 years now.  Almost two years ago she had a little brother join us.  Her family misses her very much.

Bye, bye...
